Behind the shop
The Bottle Room was founded by Morgan Taverner, who has spent years working in the drinks industry. Most of that time went into building relationships with suppliers across the trade and earning access to products and pricing that are often difficult to come by. In this business the best buying rarely comes down to scale or marketing; it comes down to knowing the right people and being someone they want to work with.
Those relationships now sit within Tavern & Trade Co. Limited, the buying company behind The Bottle Room. Through it we're able to source strong pricing and genuinely good products from across the drinks world — some of it the everyday stuff people reach for without thinking, some of it rare or only around for a short while.
For a long time that buying stayed inside the trade. The Bottle Room exists to open it up to everyone else — something friends, family and industry contacts had been suggesting for years before it launched.

Because we're independent, the experience is more personal than a large retailer can offer. Drinks are chosen by people who know where they came from, and if you want a recommendation you'll get a straight answer rather than a search result. We can move quickly, too: when a good parcel comes in, it goes straight to the shop rather than sitting in a warehouse.
The selection runs the full range — recognisable names you'll reach for again and again, alongside occasional finds and limited parcels that are only around while they last. Whether you're picking up a midweek bottle or looking for something special, the standard stays the same.
